We’re currently shaping the future of Flightsim.to. Over the years, the platform has grown significantly — both in scale and complexity, while technology itself has evolved just as rapidly. While this growth enabled many features, it also introduced technical constraints that limit performance, flexibility, and how fast we can ship improvements.
To address this, we’ve started rebuilding core parts of Flightsim.to on a new technical foundation designed for significantly improved performance, better scalability for features and a cleaner, more coherent UI for long-term maintainability. You may have already noticed some UI updates over time, for example around search or messaging, that feel loosely integrated or not fully aligned with the rest of the site, but achieving a truly cohesive experience becomes increasingly difficult when the underlying technology stack is approaching its limits.
We know that design changes are inherently risky. They can feel unfamiliar, require adjustment, and often surface strong opinions — especially on a platform people use daily. That’s exactly why we’re involving the community early.

Alongside internal development, we’ve launched Flightsim.to Labs — a closed collaboration program where a small group of experienced community members help us test early concepts, review design directions, and provide feedback before decisions are finalized.
This allows us to build something that better reflects real usage patterns. The next version of Flightsim.to is being shaped directly by people who use the platform every day - by creators who understand which workflows matter, which details are noise, and where friction actually exists. We’re working in close, iterative feedback loops with this group to challenge decisions early. Invitations are intentionally limited to a small number of users; if you’ve been selected, please check your email inbox for an invitation.
Nothing changes immediately for the live platform. The current Flightsim.to continues to operate as usual while we work in parallel. As parts of the new platform mature, we may share progress and when it makes sense, more users will be able to participate in the testing environment until finally, the new platform will replace the current one.
We’re sharing this with you to be fully transparent about where the platform is heading, why certain changes are happening, and how decisions are being made. Even while much of this work happens behind the scenes, we believe it’s important that you understand the direction of the flight - rather than experiencing changes without context later on.

New
Improved

We’re excited to roll out general improvements and several new enhancements to the Flightsim.to Creators Program — designed to further support, reward, and empower the most active and impactful creators on our platform.
Professional Creators can now launch Early Access Campaigns for their mods. Early Access allows creators to release add-ons to supporters before they become publicly available. Users can support creators by purchasing Early Access using Platform Credits and gain immediate access to new content. Once the Early Access period ends, the add-on becomes available for free to everyone. Early Access supporters are rewarded with exclusive badges to recognize their support. Read more 👉 here.

Professional Creators can now create Milestones for their mods. Milestones allow creators to share planned updates and give users a simple way to support specific goals through voluntary donations. Milestones are optional funding goals attached to a mod. They help creators clearly communicate what’s coming next and allow users to voluntarily support those plans.

The Flightsim.to Marketplace is the go-to place for requesting new liveries or enhanced scenery. Professional Creators can now also send personal offers for scenery or livery creation services directly via Direct Messaging. This allows you to contact a specific creator and request a private offer, instead of posting your request publicly. You can review and accept the offer, track the progress of your order, and receive delivery — all within direct messages.

We’re introducing Mod of the Month, a new community-driven feature that highlights outstanding creations on Flightsim.to. Every user can cast one vote per month for their favorite mod. At the end of the voting period, the winning mod will be prominently featured and winners also have the chance to receive rewards, including a free Premium membership or a monetary reward.

We’ve added a new All Categories page that lists every available category on the platform alphabetically. The page is fully searchable, making it easier than ever to find what you’re looking for.
When uploading add-ons, you can now select and manage all relevant dependencies directly during the upload process. There’s no longer a need to add them afterward. You can add or remove multiple dependencies at once — without refreshing the page.
We’ve removed the clutter of multiple download buttons. Instead, clicking Download now opens a single modal displaying all available download options. Each option is clearly labeled, including compatibility indicators for MSFS 2020 / 2024 when available.

Tired of opening the Flightsim.to Hub every time? A new chat widget in the bottom-left corner of the homepage now gives you instant access to your most recent conversations. Check new messages and reply in just a single click.

All features introduced in this update are currently in beta and subject to ongoing testing, adjustments, and improvements.

Improved

We’re excited to introduce our Fall Update, bringing a fresh design, improved performance, and smarter ways to explore and find content you love on Flightsim.to.
We’ve updated the site’s visual design to make it easier to identify addon types at a glance. These colors now appear consistently in headers across the entire browsing experience and file pages, so you’ll always know what type of content you’re viewing.
🟠 Scenery: Orange
🔵 Liveries: Blue
🟢 Utilities / Other: Green

Searching for the perfect addon just got easier. New Advanced Filters allow you to refine your search by minimum downloads, last updated date, minimum rating, creator type, download status and compatibiilty - for each category you are browsing. This gives you more control over the content you want to discover.

Explore content like never before with the new ICAO Browser. Easily find sceneries, airports, GSX profiles, and more — all organized by ICAO airport codes in one convenient place. Discover add-ons for your favorite destinations around the globe. We’re already covering over 5,000 ICAO codes — and adding more every day.

Looking for a specific livery? The new Airlines Browser makes it easy to explore liveries organized by airline. Discover paint schemes from carriers around the world — no matter the aircraft type. Visit dedicated airline pages to refine your search with advanced filtering options.

We’ve added new pages dedicated to Professional Creators, showcasing their work in one central place. You will find those in the navigation menu for Aircraft Liveries or Scenery respectively. It’s now easier to browse high-quality content from trusted creators.

If you are using our Auto Installer, you can now choose which file to download and install, not just the main file. This is useful for addons with multiple versions or optional files.

Based on our new ICAO and Airlines Browsers, on each file page, you’ll now see, one-click access to liveries of the same airline and direct links to related airports and scenery addons of the same ICAO code. Smart recommendations to help you expand your collection effortlessly.

Creators can now assign uploads to a collection during the upload process. Other addons in the same collection will appear as Recommendations on the mod page — making it easier for users to discover related content.
AI-assisted file approvals have accelerated our review process of new uploads by up to 75% during off-office hours, while still maintaining human oversight. With this new achievement, around 80% of new content now gets approved in less than three minutes.
This update also brings a more consistent and cohesive site design. We’ve made backend and frontend optimizations to ensure faster browsing, quicker loading, and an overall smoother experience.
We hope you enjoy these new features and improvements — and as always, thank you for being part of the Flightsim.to community!
✈️ Fly more. Search less.

We’re excited to launch the ➡️ Auto Installer, a brand-new feature designed to make installing add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator smoother and faster than ever.
1-Click Installation: Browse flightsim.to like usual; when you see an supported add-on, just hit “Install with Auto Installer” and the tool handles everything. No more manual downloads or unpacking.
Automatic Detection: The installer detects your installed Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS 2020 or 2024) and installs files in the correct “Community” folder automatically. As simple as that.
Bulk Install Support: Add several add-ons to a queue and let the Auto Installer process them one after the other. No need to wait for one to finish manually.
Premium Members only (for now): The Auto Installer is in BETA and currently exclusive to Premium users. If you encounter any issues or bugs, please let us know.
Not all add-ons supported (yet): Creators must enable Auto Installer support for their uploads; only add-ons in compatible archive formats will show the “Install with Auto Installer” option on the homepage.
Our Auto Installer reduces the hassle of managing and extracting your downloads manually, one by one. ➡️ Download it today to enhance your modding experience.
Auto Installer is not designed to replace website features such as version management or specific addon manager tools. There are other freeware tools that handle that job. Auto Installer’s only purpose is to reduce the hassle of downloading, extracting, and installing addons manually - it does, as the name suggests, install your addons automatically.
